Some big pictures here but these are Lucys displays for Christmas!

Had a very nice trip down to Dad and Valerie yesterday with a splendid lunch. The journey down was a bit rushed as of course we were later leaving than we should have been. However the Peugeot managed to maintain the motorway speeds quite happily even if we were somewhat in excess of the speed limit for a lot of the time. In future this should be less of an issue as we intend to try and make weekend family visits, alternating between Kent and Devon and staying overnight. In the case of Devon this will give us a full day with Lucy's mum and for Kent one day with Mum and the other with Dad and Valerie. Jesse and Portia got on well even if it was a little strained at the beginning and so they should be OK in the future.

My, but how time flies! Christmas has now come and gone and its been a couple of months since my last post. It was a desperate rush in the weeks before Christmas as we were determined to get flooring down in the living/ dining room before Christmas. I had decided that I wanted the cupboards in place before this happened so that the flooring wouldn't go under the cupboards - not so much to save the cost on the floor but the cupboards will be screwed to the wall and when we change the floor, I didn't want to have to dismantle the cupboards. In the end one small cupboard was skipped as I ran out of time.

Now I don't want you to get the wrong idea here, none of the cupboards were finished, just the basic frames put in place. In the end we decided to go for a laminate floor. We would have prefered wood but it was too expensive - so this will have to do for a few years until it needs replacing and we can go for a real wood floor (or carpet it we are fed up with it!)

We decided not to go with carpet as the laminate is easier to clean. Portia is not so fold of it of course as its very slippery!

I have setup a Blog page which everyone can post to. Posting pictures looks to be a bit of a pain, but it means that everyone can post text faily easily (famous last words). So I will now be trying to post these there! I will use this one as a test and see how we go.

Picked up a new car last week. Another car! I hear you think - how many does he need! Well this only makes three.... plus the Lomax..... Well actually its a step towards only having three. Thats one everyday car and two toys - the classic for posing and three wheeler for fun. Now that Lucys mother has moved to Devon, it time we started getting out and visiting the family more and that will be easier with a bigger and faster car. So the van will be going (the Lomax/Pembleton will retain the 2CV link) and be replaced by a deisel BX estate.
The company car was being replaced as it had reached the point where it was unreliable and being a London car was very dented so had no value at all. As it was a Peugeot I decided to buy it (Peugoet and Citroen being the same company) and I knew my garage would be able to fix it. New driveshafts, service, MOT and tax its back on the road. Its too small for us (not enough luggage space) but it will do for now and if I can find a cheap and easy way of getting some of the dents out I might even be able to sell it for a small profit (but probably not!).

Enough for now - lets see how often we can get posts here instead!

Ah! thats better, pictures now seem to work, but you can't host them here but have to link them in from another site!
